Welcome to Mississauga Future Star Vocal Competition
Is your dream to become the next big singing sensation? Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Mississauga star? The Mississauga Future Star Vocal Competition is calling all Mississauga vocalists between the ages of 15 and 25 to audition for a chance to become the 2011 Future Star!
Produced annually by the Mississauga Arts Council, the Mississauga Waterfront Festival and Metalworks Institute of Sound and Music Production, the competition is now accepting submissions from up-and-coming vocalists. Winning the competition is a major career break as it includes a $2000 cash prize, a showcase opportunity at Canadian Music Week 2012 and much more!
“We know Mississauga is a hot-bed of up-and-coming vocal talent,” explains Linda Thomas, Executive Director of the Mississauga Arts Council. “We invite all emerging vocalists to take advantage of this amazing opportunity to hone their talents and win the title of 2011 Mississauga Future Star. Participating in the competition is an unforgettable experience that will positively impact the career of any young performer.”
ENTRY IS EASY! All vocalists have to do is submit their completed and signed application form, along with song lyrics and headshots no later than Thursday April 4th to the New Page to be added!! I will be sending pictures to!

The Mississauga Future Star Competition is disseminated over three rounds. Singers will be selected to perform at the Preliminary Round to be held on April 15 at Metalworks Institute of Sound & Music Production. Here vocalists will be asked to perform a cappella. A panel of professional judges will then decide which contestants move on to the next level.
The top 20 contestants will then perform at the Semi-Final Round held on May 20 at Metalworks Institute. After this round, the top 10 contestants will perform and compete for the title of the Mississauga Future Star 2011 at the Finals to be held at the Mississauga Waterfront Festival on June 19, 2011.
Please note that these age limits will be strictly enforced and contestants will be asked to provide identification with proof of age at the Preliminary Rounds. This competition is open to legal residents of Mississauga only.
